Here is the list of tips we created today for how to punctuate dialogue in your narratives.
Some of you may find this useful when writing your narratives for homework

This term the students of 6J and 5/6C are working hard to write their own narratives.
There are lots of elements involved in writing a successful narrative. It takes time, effective planning, thought, quality editing, creativity and skills in spelling and grammar.
There is a great deal of useful information online that can help students with their story writing. I have added a few links below to sources of information that may help with planning, developing characters, using dialogue and much much more!
If you have any suggestions for useful narrative writing sites, then please leave us a comment! Happy story writing everyone

This week on Tuesday and Wednesday, the grade 5 & 6 students headed into the city for a 2 part excursion.
Part 1 of the Excursion was down Lygon St, where the students put their knowledge of the Italian Language to the test. Students were immersed in Italian culture as they walked along Lygon St, checking out all the cafes, restaurants and shops that very much reflect Italy today.
I would have to day that for many of us on the day the highlight was ordering our very own gelati using our knowledge of the Italian language. The staff at the gelati shop were extremely impressed with the students language skills! So well done everyone!
Part 2 of the excursion was the the IMAX cinema, where we watch the move ‘The Human Body’. It really showed us an up close and personal look at all of the body systems. ‘Im sure there were quite a few queasy stomachs at some points!
All students took part in the excursion with great enthusiasm and respect on the day, so well done to all! Check out the Animoto clip above for some great pics from the day

Today in numeracy, some of our grade 5 and 6 students were investigating the process of long division.
Their task involved learning about this process and then using their knowledge to create a digital video/presentation to teach their peers about it. There was lots of creativity shown from all the students involved. It is always a great sign of how well you understand a topic when you can easily explain it back to someone else….hopefully these students proved that theory today!

This term we are going to be learning about the different systems of the human body!
This is a fascinating topic, and I know many of you are excited about learning, just as I am excited about teaching it!
If you have come across any good websites, interactive games, quizzes, videos or blogs about the human body systems, please leave a link as a comment below! This will be really helpful to me, and to your peers who may be able to take some information from it!
